Comparetti scan comparison

It appears that there may be two (?) versions of the scans of Comparetti's 1901 photographic plates of the Venetus A.

• The first version would be the images which were online in high-res form at stoa.org a while back and which are still online in low-res form
• A second version, containing strange reddish color artifacts, also exists: it was this version which was sent on DVD to Chris and Neel in late October.

You can see the difference in the images below: on the left we get the low-res version of the Stoa.org images, and on the left the color-artifact-bearing version.
